There’s a lot to be said for spirituality. No matter how you define it, whether it’s something organized, ancient, intangible, tangible, solitary or with community – to be spiritual and embrace wonder is a need many of us have deep in our core. So of course spiritual intelligence would be a worthwhile concept for discussion in the world of success, ambition and living well. How could we exclude it? It literally runs through everything.
Spiritual Intelligence in the world of multiple intelligences (Gardner, 1983) is given the abbreviation of SQ, much like emotional intelligence is EQ, or logical intelligence is IQ. SQ is crucially important because it flows through all other intelligences. Whether we are talking about your intrapersonal, interpersonal, kinaesthetic, emotional, verbal, visual, naturalistic or logical intelligence, spirituality flows through them all.
We’ve had our past Sister Leadership guest, Debbie of I Do With You, design a special logo for this series that captures that combination of intelligence, and shows how SQ runs through them all. We’re so excited to share this with you in today’s post! If you’ll notice, SQ runs in an infinity sign throughout the image and the concepts, basically capturing how we feel spirituality (in all its forms) touches all aspects of our lives.
And to dig deeper even into SQ, we’ll be looking at sixteen elements we feel really capture moments of spirituality and success. Over the next while, we’ll be talking about women who have been and/or are in touch with that aspect of themselves.
• stand up for what think is right
• counter adversity
• being in the flow
• heightened state of consciousness
• sanctify everyday experiences (be present in the moment)
• spiritual remedies for problem solving
So with that in mind, we want to ask you: How does spiritual intelligence influence your life, success and well being?
Do you know someone who is living that spirit today?
We’d love to learn more and possibly feature that story here on our blog. Don’t be shy – get in touch with us at Camille@SisterLeadership.com
(And coming up next week we’ll be looking into the founding ladies of Ottawa and sharing their stories. It’s a fascinating snap shot of our city’s past, combined with the talent that is shaping our world.)
Till next week,
